Connect your WhatsApp number to SupaSherpa and start getting instant updates on your project. The platform sends you a welcome message the moment you connect - reply to it and you’re verified. No manual steps, no dead ends, just a working channel in seconds.Step-by-Step Guide

Navigate to your Profile page
Click your profile icon in the top navigation and select “Profile” from the dropdown menu. -
Locate the WhatsApp connection card
Scroll to the WhatsApp section. You’ll see the SupaSherpa business number (+27 73 810 0350) displayed in the helper text below the input field. -
Enter your WhatsApp number
Type your WhatsApp number in international format (e.g., +27 83 443 3787). The system accepts various formats - it will automatically normalize the number. -
Click Connect
Hit the Connect button. You’ll see a success toast: “WhatsApp connected! Check your WhatsApp for a message from SupaSherpa.” -
Check your WhatsApp
Open WhatsApp on your phone. You’ll receive a personalized welcome message from SupaSherpa addressing you by name and showing your #1 priority action with a direct link. -
Reply to verify
Send any message back to SupaSherpa. The moment your reply arrives, the system auto-verifies your channel. -
Confirmation
You’ll receive a verification welcome message confirming your channel is active. Back on the Profile page, the UI updates to show “Connected and verified” with a success toast.
Common Questions
Q: What if I enter my number in a different format?The platform handles all international formats automatically. Whether you use +27834433787, +27 83 443 3787, or even (27) 83-443-3787, the system normalizes it behind the scenes. Q: How long does it take to get the welcome message?
The proactive welcome message sends within seconds of registration. If you don’t see it immediately, check your WhatsApp connection and ensure the number you entered is correct. Q: Do I have to reply to the welcome message?
Yes. Replying verifies your channel and confirms you control that WhatsApp number. Send any text message - even a single word works. Q: What happens after I verify?
Your channel is fully active. Future messages from SupaSherpa flow through the normal conversation pipeline. You’ll get project updates, momentum reports, and can ask questions directly via WhatsApp. Q: Can I connect multiple WhatsApp numbers?
No. Each account supports one WhatsApp channel. If you need to change your number, disconnect the current one first, then register the new number.
Troubleshooting
Issue: The Profile page shows “pending verification” but I never got the welcome messageCheck that you entered the correct WhatsApp number and that it’s associated with an active WhatsApp account. The system sends the message to the exact number you registered. If the number is wrong, delete the channel mapping and re-register with the correct number. Issue: I replied to the welcome message but the Profile page still shows unverified
Wait 5-10 seconds and refresh the page. The Profile page polls for verification status every 5 seconds for up to 60 seconds. If it still doesn’t update, send another message to the SupaSherpa business number. Issue: I’m an expert and the welcome message talks about founder features
This shouldn’t happen - the system detects your role automatically. If you see founder-specific messaging, contact support. The system looks up your role from the database and sends the appropriate welcome variant. Issue: I get a message saying “go to your Profile page” when I message SupaSherpa
This means your channel isn’t registered yet or the verification didn’t complete. Go to your Profile page and check the WhatsApp section. If it shows “Connect,” you need to register first. If it shows “pending verification,” send another message to trigger auto-verification.
