AI-Assisted Job Briefing Wizard

1. Overview

The AI-Assisted Job Briefing Wizard helps you transform your initial project idea into a structured brief that the platform can act on. You fill out a four-step wizard with your project details, and the platform’s AI enhancement agent analyzes your input to generate a comprehensive, structured brief. This ensures your project gets matched with the right experts and moves quickly through specification and delivery.

2. Step-by-Step Guide

Starting a New Brief
  1. Navigate to your dashboard and click “Post a Challenge”
  2. The wizard opens at Step 1: Project Basics
Step 1: Project Basics
  1. Enter your job title (up to 100 characters - be specific and descriptive)
  2. Write your job description (minimum 50 words, up to 5000 words). Describe what you want to build, the problem it solves, and any key requirements
  3. State your primary goal (up to 500 characters). What success looks like for this project
  4. Click “Next” to proceed to Step 2
Step 2: AI Features
  1. Select the AI capabilities your project requires from the options presented (such as NLP, Computer Vision, Predictive Analytics, Automation, or Chatbots)
  2. You can select multiple capabilities if your project needs them
  3. Click “Next” to proceed to Step 3
Step 3: Platform & Timeline
  1. Choose your target platforms (web, mobile, desktop, cloud, on-premise)
  2. Select your budget range from the predefined bands (micro, small, medium, large, enterprise)
  3. Set your deadline - either pick a specific date or choose a relative timeframe like “within 2 weeks”
  4. Select your preferred language for project delivery
  5. Click “Next” to proceed to Step 4
Step 4: Nice-to-Know
  1. Optionally add context like your industry, existing systems, team size, and technical expertise level
  2. Specify any guardrails including IP/licensing requirements, data privacy constraints, compliance needs, or prohibited technologies
  3. Attach reference documents or files if helpful (maximum 10 files, 25MB total)
  4. Click “Submit Brief”
AI Enhancement
  1. The platform saves your raw brief and triggers the AI enhancement agent automatically
  2. Within 30-60 seconds, the AI generates a structured enhanced brief
  3. The enhanced brief includes organized sections: context, goals, constraints, guardrails, budget, timeline, and language preference
  4. You receive a feasibility score (0-100) showing how likely the project is for automated delivery
Review and Confirm
  1. Navigate to the Brief Review page to see your enhanced brief
  2. Review each section carefully. Toggle to side-by-side comparison if you want to see your original input alongside the enhanced version
  3. If you spot inaccuracies or want to add details, click “Request Modifications” and provide your corrections
  4. The AI re-processes your brief with the new information
  5. When satisfied, click “Confirm Brief”
  6. Your job status updates to “spec_in_progress” and moves into specification generation
Progress Saving
  1. The wizard auto-saves your progress every 30 seconds while you’re actively editing
  2. If you close your browser and return later, the wizard restores your session automatically
  3. Your draft remains saved for 30 days if you don’t complete it

3. Common Questions

Q: What happens if I submit a very brief or vague description? A: The AI enhancement agent flags insufficient information and prompts you for critical missing details before allowing final confirmation. The enhanced brief will note which key elements are missing and suggest reasonable defaults based on similar projects. You’ll have a chance to add more detail during the review phase. Q: Can I edit my brief after I’ve confirmed it? A: Once specification generation starts, you can only add clarifications and additions that don’t conflict with the confirmed scope. If you need major changes that would invalidate the specification, you’ll need to start a new brief. This protects the integrity of work that’s already begun. Q: How does the AI handle conflicting requirements, like “build in 1 week” for an “enterprise-scale system”? A: The AI identifies conflicts and presents them to you during the review phase. You’ll see a clear explanation of the contradiction and be asked to clarify which requirement is more important or adjust your expectations. This prevents mismatched expectations later. Q: What if I accidentally include sensitive information like passwords or API keys? A: The AI agent detects and flags potentially sensitive information including PII, credentials, and confidential data. You’ll receive a warning before proceeding, giving you a chance to remove or mask that information. Never include actual credentials in your brief. Q: How long do I have to review and confirm my enhanced brief? A: There’s no strict time limit. Your enhanced brief remains available for review until you confirm it. However, the platform sends reminder notifications if a brief sits unconfirmed for several days to keep your project moving forward.

4. Troubleshooting

Issue: The AI enhancement is taking longer than 60 seconds If the AI enhancement service is experiencing high load or temporary issues, your brief gets queued for retry. You’ll receive a notification with an estimated wait time. Check back in a few minutes, or the platform will notify you when processing completes. Your brief is saved and won’t be lost. Issue: I can’t find my draft after closing the browser Return to the wizard entry point (click “Post a Challenge” again). The platform automatically restores your incomplete session if it’s less than 30 days old. If you don’t see your draft, it may have auto-deleted after the 30-day retention period. Issue: The wizard won’t let me proceed to the next step Check that you’ve filled in all required fields in the current step. Required fields include job title, description (minimum 50 words), and primary goal in Step 1. The wizard validates each step before allowing progression. Error messages appear near incomplete fields. Issue: My budget or timeline seem unrealistic after AI enhancement The AI normalizes your inputs based on industry standards and similar projects. During the review phase, you can provide corrections if the AI misinterpreted your intent. Click “Request Modifications” and explain your specific constraints or context that justify your timeline or budget. Specification Generation - After you confirm your enhanced brief, the platform automatically generates a detailed technical specification based on your brief. This specification becomes the foundation for expert matching and project delivery. The specification includes functional requirements, technical requirements, and business requirements derived from your brief. Data Room - Upload and organize supporting documents for your project in your Data Room. Reference documents you attach during the briefing wizard are automatically added here. The Data Room helps experts understand your context and existing systems when they begin work. Venture Squad - Invite co-founders or team members to collaborate on your brief before submission. They can review your inputs, suggest changes, and help ensure nothing critical is missed. This is especially valuable if you’re building as part of a founding team rather than solo.
