Expert Dashboard
Overview
The Expert Dashboard is your command center for managing your work on Fiftyknots. Browse available jobs, respond to offers with clear SLA deadlines, track active projects with real-time escrow status, and monitor your earnings and success metrics. The dashboard surfaces everything you need to build your expert reputation and ship quality work on time.Step-by-Step Guide
Browse and Ask About Jobs
- Log in with your activated expert profile. If your profile isn’t activated, you’ll redirect to the profile setup wizard first.
- View the job board on your dashboard. Each listing shows title, Hero’s Journey stage badge, required skills, budget range, and estimated duration.
- Filter jobs using the stage dropdown (multiselect) or skills filter. Results update within 1 second.
- Click “Ask Question” on any job to start an anonymous chat with the client. You’ll show as “Anonymous Expert #[ID]” until you accept an offer.
- Track conversations in the “My Conversations” section. Unread chats show count badges. Once you accept an offer for a job, identities reveal and you see real names.
Respond to Job Offers
- Check “Pending Offers” at the top of your dashboard. The badge shows your total offer count.
- Open an offer to see job title, client industry, budget, deadline, requirements, and your match score. The SLA countdown timer shows how long you have to respond (e.g., “23 hours left to respond”). Offers sort by most urgent deadline first.
- Click “Accept” to confirm. You’ll see a confirmation message with next steps. Your acceptance records immediately.
- Click “Decline” if the job doesn’t fit. Select a structured reason: budget too low, deadline too tight, currently unavailable, lack of expertise, or not interested. Add optional notes to help matchmaking improve.
- Watch for status changes. If an offer expires while you’re viewing it, the dashboard shows “Expired” status and disables accept/decline buttons with an auto-refresh.
Track Active Projects
- View “Active Projects” on your dashboard after accepting an offer and getting allocated.
- Click a project to see full job details, client information, project timeline, and escrow status (funded, amount held).
- Submit deliverables using the link in the project view.
- Monitor deadlines. Active projects sort by most urgent deadline first so you always know what needs attention.
Monitor Dashboard Stats
- Check your stats at the top of the dashboard: Active Projects count, Completed Projects count, Total Earned, and Success Rate.
- Total Earned reflects all released escrow payments. It updates when clients approve your work and escrow releases.
- Success Rate shows the percentage of projects rated 3+ stars. Build this metric by shipping quality work that clients approve.
- Available Jobs count shows total open jobs matching your activated skills. Set your availability to “Closed” if you’re at capacity and want to stop receiving offers.
Common Questions
Q: Why can’t I see the job board?A: You need an activated expert profile. The dashboard redirects you to the profile setup wizard if your profile isn’t activated yet. Complete the wizard, confirm your skills, and set your preferences to access the job board. Q: What happens if I don’t respond to an offer in time?
A: The offer expires. The SLA countdown timer shows exactly how long you have to respond. If you’re viewing an expired offer, the dashboard shows “Expired” status and disables the accept/decline buttons. The system auto-refreshes to keep you current. Q: Can I still see jobs I’m already working on?
A: Yes. Jobs you’re allocated to show an “Already Assigned” badge instead of the “Ask Question” button. You’ll see them in your “Active Projects” section with full details. Q: What if I accept an offer but another expert gets the job?
A: The dashboard shows “Offer Withdrawn - Another Expert Selected” status. Matchmaking ranks experts, and if someone with a higher match score accepts first, they get the allocation. Keep building your skills and success rate to improve your match scores. Q: Do anonymous chats stay accessible after a job closes?
A: Yes. When a job fills or closes, the conversation shows “Closed” status but remains accessible for reference. You can review past conversations anytime in “My Conversations.”
Troubleshooting
Offer response not submitting: If you click accept or decline but the response doesn’t go through due to network issues, the system queues your response locally and retries with exponential backoff. You’ll see a pending state indicator while the system retries. Job filters not updating: Filters should update the job list within 1 second. If results don’t refresh, check your connection and reload the page. The system caches filter metadata (skills, stages) to keep filtering fast. Missing conversations: If you have multiple anonymous chats but don’t see all of them, check that you’re viewing all jobs, not just active ones. Anonymous chats organize by job, and closed jobs move to a separate section. Use the conversation filters to show all statuses. Stats not reflecting recent work: Dashboard stats update when escrow releases (for Total Earned) and when clients rate projects (for Success Rate). If a project just completed, wait for the client to approve and release payment. Escrow status shows in each active project view.Related Features
