AI analyzes these narratives to build a rich skill profile - inferring technologies, expertise levels, and industry domains. This story-based approach captures the nuance of real-world experience, enabling better expert-founder matches and higher-quality project outcomes.

Step-by-Step Guide

Getting Started

  1. Receive Your Invitation
    • You’ll receive an email with a unique registration link (valid for 7 days)
    • Click the link to begin your expert profile setup
    • If your link expires, request a new invitation from the platform administrator
  2. Create Your Account
    • Enter your basic information: full name, email, contact details, and location
    • Submit to create your account and gain platform access
  3. Share Your Project Stories
    • Navigate to the Expert Story Profiling Wizard (/expertstoryprofilingwizard)
    • Write 3-5 narrative descriptions of past projects you’ve completed
    • Each story can be up to 2000 characters - describe what you built, the challenges you solved, and the technologies you used
    • Focus on real projects where you delivered tangible results
  4. Review AI-Generated Skills
    • Submit your stories and wait approximately 30 seconds while AI analyzes them
    • Review the inferred skills, expertise levels (beginner/intermediate/expert), and industry domains
    • The system consolidates overlapping skills and shows the highest expertise level detected across all stories
    • Confirm accurate skills, remove incorrect ones, or manually add missing skills the AI didn’t detect
  5. Configure Your Job Preferences
    • Select job types you’re interested in: one-time projects, ongoing support, consultations, or emergency fixes
    • Choose 1-5 industries from the taxonomy (e.g., E-commerce, SaaS, Healthcare, Education)
    • Set your availability: hours per week (5-40h), timezone, and preferred working hours
    • Define your hourly rate range in USD (minimum and maximum)
  6. Activate Your Profile
    • Review your complete profile summary - skills, domains, experience, and preferences
    • Edit any section if you spot errors or want to make changes
    • Click “Activate Profile” to make yourself visible to the matchmaking system
    • You’ll receive a confirmation notification when activation is complete

If AI cannot detect meaningful skills after 2 attempts, you’ll be prompted to provide more detailed stories or manually add skills. Stories that mention specific frameworks, problem-solving approaches, and concrete deliverables yield the best results. Can I write project stories in languages other than English? Yes. The system supports translation with confidence indicators. Specify your narrative language when submitting stories. Translation quality may affect skill inference accuracy, so review AI-generated results carefully and manually adjust as needed. What happens if I need to update my skills or availability later? You can update your profile anytime after activation. Add new project stories to expand your skill set - the system re-analyzes and merges results with your existing profile. Update availability, rates, or industry preferences instantly without re-profiling. Changes to preferences immediately affect future job matching. Your profile remains active during updates unless you choose to deactivate. How do I temporarily stop receiving job offers? Deactivate your profile from the Expert Dashboard or profile settings. Your account status changes to “inactive” and you immediately stop appearing in matchmaking results. All your profile data remains saved. Reactivate anytime to resume receiving job offers - no need to rebuild your profile or re-enter information. Why should I write detailed project stories instead of just listing skills? Detailed stories help AI understand the depth and context of your expertise. A founder looking for a Python developer needs to know if you’ve built ML pipelines, web APIs, or data analysis tools. Rich narratives reveal problem-solving ability, domain knowledge, and the scale of projects you’ve handled - information that simple skill tags can’t capture. Troubleshooting

My invitation link says it’s expired Invitation links are valid for 7 days. If yours expired, contact the platform administrator to request a new invitation. The administrator can resend an invitation to your email address. You won’t lose any work - if you partially completed registration before expiration, your progress is saved. AI didn’t detect skills I know I demonstrated in my stories This happens when project descriptions are too general or don’t mention specific technologies. Edit your stories to include concrete tool names, frameworks, methodologies, and technical details. Resubmit for re-analysis, or manually add missing skills using the skill addition interface. You can add any skill the AI missed - your manual additions appear alongside AI-inferred skills in your final profile. The system won’t let me set my rate range Ensure your minimum rate is less than your maximum rate - the system validates this requirement. Both values must be in USD. If validation fails, check that you entered numeric values without currency symbols or special characters. Contact support if the issue persists after correcting your input. I can’t activate my profile even though I completed all sections Verify that you have at least one confirmed skill (AI-inferred or manually added), selected at least one industry, and set a valid availability range. Check for incomplete sections in your profile summary. If all sections show as complete but activation still fails, try refreshing the page or logging out and back in. Persistent issues may indicate a system error - contact platform support with your account details. Job Board - Once your profile is active, browse available projects on the Jobs Board (/jobsboard).
